Executive Chef
Alvaro Chavez
Alvaro Chavez
has been Executive Chef at The Noodle Café of Glenview for
approximately six years. What an amazing six years it has been!
Guests and the staff alike have raved about the creativity that
Alvaro has brought to the menu at The Noodle in Glenview.
Chef Alvaro has incorporated his background in French cuisine with
his passion for Southwestern accents into his exciting new specials.
The result is a fusion of flavors in offerings including Sautéed
Jumbo Shrimp with Chorizo and Sweet Bell Peppers, Goat
Cheese-Crusted New Zealand Rack of Lamb with Dijon Mustard Sauce and
Pan-Roasted Sea Scallops with Chive Beurre Blanc and a Wild Rice
Medley.
Chef Alvaro began his career at La Forett in Lake Forest, where he
was introduced to French cooking by Carlos Nieto (current owner of
Carlos’ in Highland Park). He then moved to the Southgate Cafe in
Lake Forest, where as Sous Chef he perfected his craft and began to
experiment and develop the style that now complements The Noodle.
You may see Chef Alvaro greeting guests at their tables or sharing
culinary stories and recipes at our special event dinners.
General Manager Jason Lerner
If you have ever come in to dine at
The Noodle in Glenview, it’s more
than likely you’ve met Jason Lerner,
the General Manager of The Noodle in
Glenview. He’s there to greet you
with a smile and a handshake. If
you’ve been there more than once, he
probably knows your name.
Jason graduated from University of
Illinois in Champaign with a degree
in finance. He worked as a
stockbroker before switching gears
and joining The Noodle family in
1998, just before the Glenview
restaurant opened. He started out as
an assistant manager and worked his
way up the ranks to GM. He met Rob
and Ann Garrison before he ever came
to work for the restaurant. Rob and
Jason’s dad attended graduate school
together at Kellogg. Rob and Ann
were in attendance at Jason and his
lovely wife Valerie’s wedding. Who
knew at that point that Jason would
turn out to be the GM in one of Rob
and Ann’s restaurants?
In any one night you might see Jason
greeting guests, coordinating
servers, bringing food to tables,
talking to vendors, chatting with
patrons in the bar, fine tuning the
computer system or seating guests.
Behind the scenes, he’s involved in
decision making on practically all
levels. He, for example, plans a
hosts our World Cuisine Dinner
Series and Wine Tasting Events. He
is also the Private Party Planner
for The Noodle in Glenview.
When Jason is not at the restaurant
(which is hardly ever!) he enjoys
dining out with friends and family
or traveling to Mexico or Napa
Valley with Valerie. So the next
time you’re comforted by the
"everyone knows your name"
philosophy of the restaurant, it is
mostly due to Jason. He believes in
making our guests feel comfortable
and at home in our elegant
environment. He is looking forward
to seeing you soon.
